Wayne C. Vial MD

Dr. Vial is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Tulane University, then received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the same institution. After spending four years on the faculty of Southwestern Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Texas, he relocated to Charleston.

Dr. Vial practiced pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine for twenty years in the Charleston area. Since 2008, he has devoted his practice entirely to the care of patients with sleep disorders.

In addition to being board certification in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine, Dr. Vial has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine since 1990. He also holds board certification in the subspecialty of Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, dating from 2007, the first year in which this certification was available.

Dr. Vial is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American College of Physicians. He is also a member of the American Thoracic Society and the South Carolina Medical Association. He has been recognized by Best Doctors.

Dr. Vial is married and has two children.
